How are you this Sunday, evening, Friends? I’m poking my head out from a cold, cozy Sunday evening which I’ve spent fashioning plans for a few little Christmas gifts for loved ones while eating homemade pizza and watching Outlander on the couch, nestled next to my sweet kitty.
As we draw closer to December (next week!) I find myself returning to reading poetry during the darker evenings: Rumi’s Gold collection is currently on my nightstand, and it’s such a soothing thing to page through a poem or two before turning out the lights and falling asleep. In case you are looking to follow suit and are in need of something close at hand to read, I’m sharing one of my poems below, The Dark Ages, about learning to be brave in the dark, from my third poetry collection, New Bird.
